Bethesda releases the latest Fallout 76 update, starting Season 14 with a new character, new CAMP items, balance changes, bug fixes, and more.

Bethesda launches Fallout 76's Season 14 Fight for Freedom with a massive new patch. Fallout 76's Update 1.0.85 went live August 22 on all platforms and included both new content and a variety of bug fixes and balance changes.

Fallout 76 launched in October 2018 to a less-than-stellar reception. Many Bethesda fans were also disappointed to see the studio investing time and money in a new MMO rather than the single-player games it is known for. However, several years of updates and new content brought significant improvements to Fallout 76, and the game currently has a "Mostly Positive" rating on Steam. The latest season, Fight for Freedom, lets players earn patriotic rewards as they accumulate SCORE during their adventures across post-apocalyptic Appalachia. Season 14 launched alongside Fallout 76's Patch 1.0.85.

Fallout 76's new update is 11.4 GB on Xbox, 10.9 GB on PlayStation, 11.5 GB for PC players who use the Microsoft Store, and 2.6 GB via Steam. The patch adds two new Perks called Arms Keeper and Stable Tools, which reduce the weight of Rifles and Improve Automatic Melee Weapon durability. Meanwhile, the Season 14 content includes a new character, the New Presidential Power Armor Skin, and New CAMP Objects. The update also changes the interface and several events and locations.

Fallout 76 players can now unlock Grandma Junko by reaching rank 43 in Fight For Freedom. The Japanese grandmother is pretty sure she's looking for her grandkids, though her memory isn't quite what it used to be. However, she's more than happy to whip up some traditional recipes at the player's CAMP. Meanwhile, one of the newest Fallout 76 CAMP objects is the Autominer Collectron, which automatically mines Ore. Additionally, players can decorate their CAMP like the commander-in-chief with the new Oval Office Rug and Wallpaper.

Version 1.0.85's balance changes include reducing the difficulty of enemy encounters in Summersville and Morgantown Airport and adding additional Health and ammo to those locations. Players will also notice fewer attacks on their CAMP and adjustments to the Health, resistance, and weapon damage for common enemies that players face in Fallout 76. Legendary Creatures are losing their Health Regeneration Mutation but now have 60% more Health. Bethesda also changed how Fallout 76 calculates Electricity Resistance, Acid Resistance, and Radiation Resistance.

Several events received bug fixes, while Fallout 76's Meat Week event received several new items. In addition, the latest patch finally lets players use Free-cam in Photo Mode. Other miscellaneous improvements include changes to multiple quests and locations and renaming over 600 CAMP items to better explain what they are. Anyone in a charitable mood can also leave items for new players by putting them in the Donation Box outside Vault 76.
